Femke Bol en Sifan Hassan zijn genomineerd als beste atlete ter wereld in 2020. In totaal telt de lijst tien dames. De prijs wordt (virtueel) uitgereikt op zaterdag 5 december tijdens een gala van World Athletics. Ook de tien genomineerden bij de mannen zijn bekend, hier geen Nederlanders op de lijst.
Later deze week kun je hier stemmen (doen!). De stemmen van het publiek telt voor 25 procent in de einduitslag.

Femke Bol was dit jaar de snelste ter wereld op de 400 meter horden en haar tijd was tevens goed voor een Nederlands record (53,79). Daarnaast won ze veel wedstrijden, waaronder twee Diamond League-wedstrijden (Stockholm en Rome).
Sifan Hassan begon matig, ze stapte uit tijdens haar eerste wedstrijd dit seizoen. Maar daarna was ze in bloedvorm.
In Brussel verbrak ze het werelduurrecord en tijdens een aangepaste FBK Games liep Hassan een Europees record op de 10.000 meter.
